ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist, I create from experience and reflect the world around me. My paintings meander between dark and monotone and brightly colorful. As I look back fifteen years to my entire body of work, I see the development of the hand of a technician, the mark of the artist, my signature. I describe my current work as 'quiet chaos', reflecting the moodiness or somberness that I notice in my everyday world. This pictorial world stemmed from a few lines drawn on a painting at the end of 2005, and grew into this intricate detail of lines intertwining. This pulse of movement, of growing and contracting, arresting and accelerating, in multiple directions, is an endless encounter, a continuous passage. It simply exists. It is simply experienced.
