San Francisco, CA-  Micaela Gallery is pleased to announce new works by Heung Mo Kim on February 7, 2007 starting at 6pm.

Kim explores space, bringing together the mind, body and soul in the form of this seemingly effortless series entitled "Mysdreams."  His self-induced limitation of color (varying greatly from his deep black ground earlier work) enables a new freedom for expression and exploration.  His use of paint, rice paper mounted on panels and silk on canvas allows the artist to achieve his objectives with minimal tools. These paintings blend within the space around them wherever they are viewed; in many ways they seem to portray a weightless journey, pushing the limits of time and space, as we know it.  Here is a gentle push with a strong perception of the inevitable.

Kim states:  “The lightness of these paintings suggest evanescence, a world of floating, charged bits of matter… The Mysdreams liberate the viewer from literal constraints of space, so that the viewer, like the artist himself, can delve into a meditation within and upon these “mysterious dream” fields.”

Exhibition hours are Tuesday-Saturday 11am-7pm, Sunday noon-5pm.  Mondays by appointment.
“Mysdreams” runs February 7-28, 2007.  Entry is at no charge.

Micaela Gallery is easily accessible by MUNI, BART, Golden Gate Transit, SamTrans, and Caltrain.  Hourly and daily parking is available at the Opera Plaza Garage on Grove Street (between Franklin and Gough).  Street parking is also available.
