newsletter June 11, 2006 1969 - 2006 IN MEMORIAM On May 11, 2006, Deborah Gibbon passed away from a brain aneurism in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was an artist, arts educator and arts administrator. Her contributions to the San Francisco Bay Area arts community and local public school and university programs were immeasurable. Deborah J. Gibbons received numerous awards and national recognition for her contributions to the community via KQED's SPARK program and local public school and university programs. The Deborah J. Gibbon Educational Fund is being organized by her many friends and family to continue her passion to arts education and public art. *** 7:30 p.m. KQED will host a memorial service in San Francisco to remember and honor Deborah’s generous spirit and vibrant personality, and to provide an opportunity to share memories with others who knew and loved her.
