MITCH LAPLANTE Resides: California Mitch LaPlante’s oversized sculptural representations of fruits and vegetables celebrate the edible plants that surround and sustain us, exploring their myriad varied forms, textures, colors, and structures. These works are intended to be inviting - magnifying perceptions and feelings of beauty, desirability, and goodness. Mitch studied at Haystack, Pilchuck, California College of the Arts, and Public Glass. His work is shown in leading galleries and has earned awards in the fine arts, most recently the Board of Directors prize in the 2006 Cambridge Art Association National Prize Show. Mitch lives and works in San Francisco, California.
