Marie-Lou Desmeules was born 1978 in Quebec/Canada. Her work is a kaleidoscope. They mirror, then mirror back once more, that which lies between life and death, reality and representation. They reflect, as well, our inclination to design ourselves without reserve after someone else’s imagination. In a world full of images that aim to dominate us, that accompany our global pull toward death and destruction, her work can be read humanistically: Behold, be reminded, at the beginning there was man!
