Artist Statement:

What is real? How does one know? By pursuing studies of philosophy and alternative spirituality, these two questions form the foundation of my work in Natural Botanicals and Imaginary Botanicals.

The series of Natural Botanicals celebrate the beauty of nature and its ability to lift us out of the commotion of everyday life. It's a reminder we belong to mysteries far greater.

Imaginary Botanicals is a series of work expressing interest in alternate realities, to entice viewers out of the confines of our realities, into a sense of wonder.

Using glass as an expressive sculptural medium, reality becomes a three-dimensional trompe l'oeil, where a brittle manufactured material takes on the appearance of something organic and pliant.
