Pacific Standard Time

This weekend was the opening of a cultural event that could only take place in Los Angeles: Pacific Standard Time. A collaborative venture involving Southern California cultural institutions and museums, PST creates a regional exhibition of the work of California artists from 1945 to 1980. I visited the MOCA Grand Avenue, The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA and the J. Paul Getty Museum.

Some of my favorite works shown included sculpture (De Wain Valentine), glass (Marvin Lipofsky), video (Tracey Emin), photography (Bruce Conner), painting (David Hockney), drawing (William T. Wiley), and installation (Pae White).

The weather was beautiful and the art was simply fantastic.
